The latest from Louet is that the latest prototypes of the dobby bars did not reach the standard they expected and the Magic Dobby now won’t be delivered until mid March. I am disappointed, but I want to take this opportunity to sing the praises of Rob and Ange at Weft Blown, where I ordered my Dobby. Rob has kept me fully informed and, when letting me know of this latest date, he offered an alternative involving a lightly used Dobby that they could get to me very quickly as they were mindful of the fact that my original plan had been to use the Dobby for Project 6. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the epitome of knowing your customers and offering excellent customer service. I’m actually going to wait for the newer version, but I’m touched that they thought to offer an alternative to help me. If you are considering purchasing a Louet loom (or indeed a spinning wheel) I would heartily recommend them.
