Looking Back: Project Four

Project 4 was a short 12 week project entitled “Layers”. For the weavers in the group that meant double weave, also known as double cloth. In this technique, you effectively weave two layers together. They can be stitched together at various points so that the two layers for a tube, or can be sealed up the side to create a pocket that can be stuffed as you weave.

More delays

The latest news from Louet is that the improved dobby hooks have only just arrived at the factory, so production and delivery has been pushed back to mid February. It’s possible I could produce my Project 6 samples for the second weekend in March by then, but it’s pushing it, as I’ve never warped a Louet before and there will be some time needed to adjust.
